What are the best EQ settings for vocals?

For vocals, try the "Vocal" preset which boosts the mid frequencies (1kHz-4kHz) for clarity and presence, while slightly cutting the low frequencies to reduce muddiness. You can also manually adjust: cut around 250Hz to reduce boxiness, boost around 3kHz for clarity.

How do I boost bass without making it muddy?

Use the "Bass Boost" preset or manually boost the 60Hz band by 3-6dB. Avoid boosting too much in the 250Hz range, as this can make the audio sound muddy. If the bass becomes overwhelming, slightly cut the 250Hz band.

Does equalization affect audio quality?
